As times get harder,
people become more assessable to fraud
and vandalism. With all the
serious budget cuts at the Louisiana
Department of Agriculture and Forestry,
it is getting harder to continue to keep
personnel in the field for our
protection. The Brand Commission
has made several arrests this year
already on cattle thefts and cases about
stolen diesel. When they make
these arrests because of an informant,
our association has a program called the
Louisiana Livestock Crimestoppers.
If you report an agriculture related
crime, you will remain anonymous plus
received a reward.
Without this program,
the Brand Commission would not possibly
be able to acquire as much information
as they do. We need your help to
keep this program going by making a
donation or calling the office with
information with ways to raise money to
keep this program alive. The checks [to
the informants] are written out of the
Louisiana Cattlemen's Association office
and we, as cattlemen, are responsible
for the program.
